Nipigon District Memorial Hospital Facility

Completion of the 37-bed Nipigon District Memorial Hospital in 1992 brought health care under one roof in Nipigon. Extended care, chronic care, acute care, and respite care beds are available for the 5,500 people served by the hospital's catchment area.

The facility, equipment and fully qualified staff can handle a variety of emergency, medical, pediatric, coronary, obstetric and chronic care problems either directly or through transfer from or to other health care facilities.

The Nipigon District Memorial Hospital aims to provide quality health care services to the residents it serves, and to promote health education and improved community health through the integration and coordination of community health programs such as meals-on-wheels, Handi-Transit, Lifeline, Telephone Assurance, Senior Day Care and Respite Care.

The Community's Medical Clinic, located on the same site as the Hospital, has five (5) Family Medicine Physicians and one (1) Nurse Practitioner.
