Our Mission
The mission of Nipigon District Memorial Hospital is to provide excellent health care and wellness promotion services in order to improve the health of the population and the quality of life of all residents in our communities.
Safety
Nipigon District Memorial Hospital affirms that safety underlies all strategic priorities for the organization and it is a strategic goal for Nipigon District Memorial Hospital to improve safety.
Guiding principles
To enhance our culture of safety and in support of this strategic goal, Nipigon District Memorial Hospital will be guided by the following principles:
- Hold staff and physicians accountable to seek ways and means to prevent and mitigate unsafe acts
- Support all staff and physicians to diligently report concerns, errors, near misses, and adverse events without fear of reprisal
- Take responsibility to address the actions of any individual when their actions fail to meet professional patient care and/or service standards
- Collect and initiate the sharing of safety data
- Develop a framework for safety that encourages optimal communication at all levels within the organization
- Commit to continuous improvements in safety by monitoring trends, performance measurement and analysis of our progress
