Join our Patient Family Advisory Council!
In partnership with the Nipigon District Family Health Team and the North of Superior Counseling Program, NDMH is proud to announce the re-establishment of a Patient Family Advisory Council. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to patient-centred care, ensuring that the voices of patients and families help shape the future of healthcare in our region.
We envision a thriving rural Local CARE health system where patients, families, staff, partners, and community members Flourish Together – connected by trust, supported by purpose, and strengthened through CARE.
We're currently recruiting members! If You're passionate about improving healthcare experiences and want to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to join the council. Please contact us to complete an Expression of Interest and learn more about how you can get involved.
Together, we're building a stronger, more responsive healthcare system for everyone.
A patient and family advisory council member is someone who:
- is 18 years of age or older;
- gives advice to healthcare partners (Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, Nipigon District Family Health Team, North of Superior Counselling Programs) based on their experinces as a patient or family/caregiver;
- wishes to serve as a collaborative partner in trasforming healthcare within the community and region of Nipigon;
- has suggestions to improve the patient or family experience;
- is insightful, optimistic, a great communicator and listener; and
- can commit 2 hours of their time, 4 time per year.
